A week of prayer for the flourishing of our community
We invite you to join a week of prayer shared by churches around Dane County, from October 16-23, 2022.
“Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” (Jeremiah 29:7)
From Sunday, October 16th till Sunday, October 23rd, we will take up hour-long prayer posts in common prayer spaces around the city for the common purpose of asking God for His peace and prosperity for Dane County.
Prayer rooms:
These physical prayer spaces each have their own, unique sign-up for one-hour prayer slots. Click on the links below to sign up to pray.
North: Northside Christian Assembly, at 709 Northport Dr.
East: City Church, at 4909 E Buckeye Rd.
South: The new Collaboration Project Coworking Space, at 6506 Schroeder Rd. (behind the Waldorf School)
West: Madison Christian Community, at 7118 Old Sauk Road
Downtown: New Culture Church, at 301 S Bedford St. Suite 219
Five physical prayer rooms located around the Madison area - North, East, South, West, and Downtown - will be open all week, and all who desire to come and pray are welcome. You will need to sign up for an hour-long (or longer!) prayer slot for the prayer room you’d like to visit.
It might sound daunting to pray for an hour, but the most common testimony we’ve heard around the world from people setting foot in a prayer room is this: “I’ve never prayed for an hour in my life, but an hour in the prayer room felt like 10 minutes!”
The beauty of visiting a physical prayer room of this nature is that it facilitates multiple expressions of prayer - you are free to pray and connect with God however you like. You can interact with the guided prayer stations, join in the written prayers of others and add your own. You can sit and meditate on Scripture. You can work through your prayer list. You can play or listen to music, dance, or lay on the ground. You can pray through the Rosary. You can join your church tradition in that week’s liturgy, readings or devotional. You are free.
Our hope is that we do this together, that we pray for matters in our city that concern us all.
Join others from the Church in Dane County, as different congregations come together as one to pray for the flourishing of our community.
