United Week of Prayer 2026

At the end of April, we activated Dane County Christians to pray for the flourishing of the community through prayer walks and other prayer opportunities. Between prayer walks and church-led prayer events, we were so encouraged to see “The Church in Dane County” show up.

In total, 122 prayer walks happened, equating to 230 miles of Dane County covered. Using an app, prayer walkers were able to see which streets had already been prayed for, and throughout the week it was encouraging to see the map fill with color.

One walker told of how her plans for a 90 minute prayer walk was interrupted by a particular woman she knew who lived in the neighborhood coming to mind. She decided to call her and ended up walking for just 10 minutes, spending the remaining 80 minutes visiting with the woman in her home.

Many folks walked on their own, but a few churches organized group prayer walks surrounding their church’s neighborhood. One prayer walk leader shared,

"I was so happy to see that in addition to my church, others learned what we were doing and joined us. Good people who know and love the Lord Jesus are a pleasure to be around. Things like this affirm for me that we really are One Lord, One Faith, and One Baptism."

We also created a day by day prayer resource that folks could access all at once or get a daily email for with each day’s focus. One email recipient shared,

With United Week of Prayer over, Dane County won't stop praying for the flourishing of the community; we pray the week was a springboard to further loving and serving our neighbors.
